JAKARTA. Indonesia’s biggest automotive show, organized by the Association of Indonesian Automotive Manufacturers (Gaikindo), will be held at the Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD) in Tangerang, Banten.
Set to run from Aug. 20 to 30 this year, the event will take place in the newly built Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) center, the nation’s largest convention and exhibition hall, covering 220,000 square meters.
“Besides moving the event to the new venue, we will also change its name to Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show,” the organizing committee’s chairman, Johnny Darmawan, announced on Tuesday.
Previously, the annual expo was held at the Jakarta Indonesia Expo in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, and was named the Indonesia International Motor Show.
Thirty foreign and local car makers will join the auto show this year, comprising 23 passenger-vehicle brands and seven commercial-vehicle brands, according to the organizer.
