JAKARTA.The General Elections Commission (KPU) will disperse two million more ballot papers to accommodate the final voter list (DPT), which was completed on June 13.
"The addendum [contract changes] will be conducted today and we will add approximately two million more ballot papers," KPU logistical bureau deputy head Susila Hery Prabawa said at the KPU headquarters in Central Jakarta on Monday, as reported by kompas.com.
On June 13, the KPU said that 190.2 million people had been registered as eligible to vote in the presidential election on July 9.
Susila said that KPU had originally commissioned 192.22 million sheets, which would cover those included on the 2014 presidential election potential voter list (DP4) plus two percent.
However, the number of ballot papers to be printed according to the new contract will total up to 194.11 million sheets, he said.
Susila added that the new contract was worth up to Rp 24.26 billion (US$2.04 million), which includes the funds for printing and distribution to regencies and cities. (fss)
