CORRUPTION ERADICATION COMMISSION - JAKARTA. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is scheduled to auction seized assets of graft convict Fuad Amin, the former regent of Bangkalan, East Java.
"The KPK is scheduled to auction assets seized from graft convict Fuad Amin, who was found guilty of corruption and money laundering," KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah said in a written statement on Friday.
One of the 14 seized assets is a house on a 2,345-square-meter plot of land worth Rp 33.6 billion (US$2.36 million) in Cipinang Cempedak subdistrict, Jatinegara, East Jakarta. Among the 14 items to be auctioned are land, a house, an apartment and a motorcycle worth Rp 63.28 billion in total.
An announcement about the auction was made on lelang.go.id. The online auction is scheduled to close on May 28 at 11 a.m.
The KPK is cooperating with the Jakarta III State Assets and Auction Services Agency (KNKPL) to hold the auction.
Fuad was charged in 2015 with accepting a Rp 18.05 billion bribe from PT Media Karya Sentosa (MKS) and was sentenced to eight years in prison by the Jakarta Corruption Court.
