JAKARTA. Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators in cooperation with officials of the Immigration Directorate-General and the Shenzhen police have arrested Anggoro Widjojo, who had been a target for some time, in China.
“Anggoro has been arrested in China on Wednesday afternoon and right now he is being transported to Indonesia. The plane is expected to land tonight,” Law and Human Rights Deputy Minister Denny Indrayana said on Thursday.
Denny, however, refused to elaborate further on the arrest. Anggoro Widjojo had been targeted by the KPK since 2009. He was allegedly involved in the Integrated Radio Communication System procurement graft case at the Forestry Ministry worth Rp 180 billion.
His sibling, Anggodo Widjojo had been sentenced to 10 years in prison and fined Rp 250 million as he was found guilty of attempting to bribe KPK investigators so they would cancel the investigation on Anggoro.(dic)
