JAKARTA. State owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura I (AP I) announced on Monday changes in the operating hours of Juanda International Airport in Surabaya, East Java, in order to accommodate renovations of airport facilities.
AP I general manager Trikora Harjo said that the airport would operate daily from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m starting Monday through the end of March 2015.
“We need to reduce our operating hours by two hours to support our commitment to passengers to continue to provide better services,” Trikora said in Surabaya as quoted by Antara news agency.
He said his institution had communicated the changes in operating hours to its customers, particularly airline companies.
According to company data, six domestic airlines and 14 international airlines fly into Juanda, connecting Surabaya, Indonesia’s second-largest city, to points across the archipelago and the Asia-Pacific.
Due to the changes, a number of carriers, such as Garuda Indonesia, Lion Air, AirAsia Indonesia, EVA Air, China Airlines and Singapore Airlines have had to change their schedules.
