Jokowi will run again in election 2019, chose ulema senior as running mate

ELECTION SYSTEM - JAKARTA. President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo officially declared himself to be a presidential candidate for the Republic of Indonesia in the 2019-2024 presidential election.

He also chose Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) chairman KH Ma'ruf Amin as his running mate in the election.

"By saying bismillah, I decided to run again as a presidential candidate for the Republic of Indonesia 2019-2024," Jokowi said at Plataran Menteng, Thursday (9/8).

"The one who will accompany me as the 2019-2024 vice presidential candidate is KH Ma'ruf Amin, after receiving input from all party administrators and from volunteers throughout the country."
