JAKARTA. President-elect Joko "Jokowi" Widodo will meet with President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono immediately after the Constitutional Court announces its ruling in the lawsuit launched by the losing Prabowo Subianto- Hatta Rajasa ticket challenging the presidential result on Aug. 25, a Jokowi aide has said.
"Jokowi's meeting with Yudhoyono will be held at least one day after the court issues its decision on Aug. 25. Or, if possible, it could be held the same day [the court announces its ruling]," Andi Widjajanto, the head of Jokowi's transition team, said at the team's headquarters in Central Jakarta on Thursday.
The meeting is expected to discuss development programs under President Yudhoyono's administration and the programs Jokowi will carry out under his presidency.
"The task forces under the transition team will also begin meeting with relevant ministers from the current government after Aug. 25," Andi said.
He added that Jokowi and his team would evaluate all of Yudhoyono's unfinished and long-term programs, and would only continue programs considered consistent with Jokowi's roadmap.
Jokowi and Kalla won the July 9 presidential race and are scheduled to be inaugurated in October. (Bagus BT Saragih)
