JAKARTA. Domestic electronics market increasingly promising. These factors attract foreign investments, including electronic products. Jabil Circuit, big manufacturer of electronic circuit components from the United States, ready to invest US$ 60 million or around Rp 690 billion to build a factory original equipment manufacturing ( OEM ) and electronic components in the country .

Alex SW Retraubun, Deputy Minister of Industry said it had met with representatives of Jabil Circuit, owner of famous brand JBL. "They come here to explore investment in Indonesia," said Alex, Monday (17/3).

However, Alex does not know when and where the Jabil factory will be build. According to Alex, to date, Jabil Circuit has dozens of factories operating in 33 countries. Indonesia is not one of them.

For the initial stage, Jabil Circuit are searching for a local company to work with . At least, there are two local companies that are being ogled. But, Jabil Circuit did not want to mention the name of the local partner candidates.

Last Monday, the representatives of Jabil Circuit were coming to the Ministry of Industry (Kemperin). But Jabil is reluctant to reveal details about the company's business plan. "We have no agenda to speak to journalists," said David Gossack, Trade Counsellor Embassy of the United States , which accompany Jabil meet officials in Kemperin.

Ali Subroto Oentoaryo , Chairman of the Joint of Electronic Company ( Gabel ) welcomes Jabil plans. He said, this investment will bring fresh air to the electronics industry in the country. Last year, the value of electronics sales in the country exceeded USD 38.5 trillion, up 11 % than in 2012 . This year, the electronic market is targeted to grow by about 10 %.
