Indonesia's GDP in the third quarter 2018 grew 5.17%

MACROECONOMICS - JAKARTA. Data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) shows that Indonesia's economy in the third quarter of 2018 grew 5.17% on an annual basis (year on year (YoY)). This figure is higher than the third quarter of 2017 at 5.06% but lower than the second quarter of 2018 of 5.27%.

Household consumption expenditure contributed 2.69% to economic growth, followed by the gross fixed investment component (PMTB) of 2.24%. Meanwhile, other components contributed 0.24%.

Head of BPS Suhariyanto said that global economic conditions in the third quarter of 2018 generally experienced a slowdown. The slowdown occurred in Europe, China, Singapore, South Korea, and several other developing countries. (Translator: Barratut Taqiyyah Rafie)
