Indonesia's Budget Deficit Will Rise in 2025, Burdened by Debt and Jokowi's Program

STATE BUDGET - JAKARTA. JAKARTA. The Indonesian government has once again expanded its fiscal deficit target in the 2025 State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (RAPBN) draft, following three years of strict fiscal discipline.

The deficit for the 2025 RAPBN is set to range from 2.45% to 2.82% of the gross domestic product (GDP). This is a significant increase from the 2.29% of GDP deficit in 2024 and 1.82% in 2023.
