MACROECONOMICS - JAKARTA. Indonesia's unaudited budget deficit for 2025 was 2.92% of GDP, among the widest in over two decades and close to the legal limit, after lower revenues and high spending on social welfare programmes and economic stimulus, officials said on Thursday.
Financial markets are monitoring the fiscal situation of the largest economy in Southeast Asia, especially after the dismissal of respected finance minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati in September.
