TERRORISM - JAKARTA. The Special Detachment (Densus) 88 Anti-Terror of the Indonesian National Police has arrested as many as 142 terrorism suspects during the period from early January to December 2023.

"There are 142 suspects who have been secured by Densus 88 throughout 2023," said the Head of the Public Information Bureau (Karo Penmas) of the Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan when confirmed, Wednesday (20/12/2023).

Ramadhan mentioned that these hundreds of terrorist suspects were involved in alleged acts of terrorism and terrorist financing crimes.

According to Ramadhan, as many as 16 suspects are currently under examination, 101 suspects are in the investigation stage.

Then, as many as 23 suspects' case files have been declared complete or P21 and two suspects have died.

"And there are 2 suspects who died in law enforcement, law enforcement was carried out by the Densus 88 Team," he said.

Meanwhile, regarding the terrorist network, Ramadhan mentioned that the terrorists arrested came from various organizations.

Some of them are as many as 29 suspects from the Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) or Anshor Daulah (AD) network, as many as 49 suspects from the Abu Oemar (AO) network.

Then, as many as seven people from the Jamaah Anshorut Syariah (JAS) network, as many as 50 suspects from the Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) network, seven people from the Jamaah Anshorut Syariah (JAS) network, and five from the Islamic State of Indonesia (NII).

"Then based on the gender of the suspects out of 142 suspects, 138 are men and 4 are women," he added.
