Indonesia June inflation slows to below c.bank target at 1.96%

INFLATION - JAKARTA. Indonesia's inflation rate slowed further in June to track slightly below the central bank's target range as the coronavirus pandemic hit business activity and consumer demand, data from the country's statistics bureau showed on Wednesday.

The June annual inflation rate cooled to 1.96%, from 2.19% a month earlier, and compared with 1.84% in a Reuters poll. The June rate was the lowest since May 2000, according to Refinitiv Eikon data.

Bank Indonesia's target range for 2020 is 2%-4%.

The annual core inflation rate also eased to 2.26% in June, from 2.65% in May. The poll had expected 2.46%
