The archipelago reportedly recorded a download growth of roughly 50 percent, mostly driven by applications.
According to a study conducted by Google, smartphone penetration in Indonesia reached 43 percent in 2015, with up to 49 percent of people considering their phone as their main device. The average number of applications installed on Indonesians’ smartphones was 31.
App Annie also revealed that Games remained the most profitable app category for Google Play last year, followed by Communication, Social, Tools and Entertainment.
