GENERAL ELECTION 2019 - JAKARTA. The Indikator Politik Indonesia released a recent survey on the electability of presidential and vice-presidential couples in the 2019 Presidential Election, Joko Widodo-Ma'ruf Amin and Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno.

Based on the Indicator survey, Jokowi-Ma'uf's electability was 54.9%, while Prabowo-Sandiaga was 34.8%. "Simulation of two names, Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin 54.9% and Prabowo-Sandiaga Uno 34.8%," said Executive Director of Indonesian Political Indicator Burhanuddin Muhtadi, when releasing the results of a survey in Jakarta on Tuesday (1/8).

While the remaining 9.2% of respondents have not made a choice and 1.1% will not vote.

Burhanuddin stressed, the electability of the two presidential and vice presidential candidates could still change given the presidential election was still around three months away. He said, the electability of Jokowi and Prabowo increased slightly compared to the survey in October 2018.

Meanwhile, undecided voters tend to decline. "It's still about three months' battle. The 20% difference is not safe for the Jokowi-Ma'ruf pair, "said Burhanuddin.

The Indicator Survey was conducted on 6-16 December 2018 and involved 1,220 respondents with multistage random sampling throughout Indonesia.

The survey method used is by face-to-face interviews by trained interviewers.

The average margin of error is plus minus 2.9% with a confidence level of 95%. (Reza Jurnaliston)
