JAKARTA. The government may have to re-tender the mega railway project in Central Kalimantan (Kalimantan) worth Rp 50 trillion (US$ 4 million). Although, the government has determined the winner of that projects.

The problem comes from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). Yesterday (25/11), the Commission examine Muljadi Senjaya, Director of PT Mega Guna Ganda Universe for alleged corruption cases related to e-ID card (e-KTP) project in the Ministry of the Interior (Kemdagri) 2011-2012.

Priharsa Nugraha, Head of News and Publications of KPK, said, Muljadi examined as a witness to the case with Sugiharto as the suspects. He was the official that responsible for the e-KTP project. Until this news was written, KONTAN failed to contact Muljadi.

What is the relationship of e-KTP corruption case with the mega railway project in Central Kalimantan? Apparently, Mega Guna is a member of the winning consortium for the megaproject to build 480 kilometer railway line. This mega project consortium consists of China Railway Group Ltd of China, PT Royal Energy, and PT Mega Guna Ganda. China Railway is the leader of the consortium.

So far, the Commission is still focused on revealing Mega Guna and Muljadi involvement in the e-KTP corruption case. "We have yet to trace the track record of the witness and his company. The focus is e-KTP case, not another case," said Priharsa.

Bastary Pandji Indra, Director of Public Private Partnership Development of the Ministry of National Development Planning / Bappenas, said, the e-KTP corruption case can change the government's decision. "If he is convicted, the tender winner will be reviewed," said Bastary to KONTAN, yesterday.

He said China Railways consortium won the bid of the project in April 2014. However, they have not been able to sign a contract for the SBY government has not released a letter of guarantee. Now, the project was even held hostage by case of corruption.

Yesterday, Dedy S Priatna, Deputy of Infrastructure of Bappenas, said, the function of the railway transport routes Puruk Cahu- Batanjuang-Bangkuang, Kalteng was expanded, from the transport of coal to also transport passengers. "We've decided its function," he said.
