Gold Sales Break Records, Aneka Tambang's (ANTM) Net Profit Soars

EMITEN - JAKARTA. PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM), a state-owned metal mining company, has doubled its performance throughout the year 2022. ANTM recorded a net profit of IDR 3.82 trillion during 2022, which is a significant increase of 105% from the net profit of IDR 1.86 trillion in the late 2021 period.

According to financial reports on the Indonesia Stock Exchange website on Sunday (26/3), the increase in ANTM's net profit was due to the increase in sales. This constituent of the Kompas100 Index recorded revenue of IDR 45.93 trillion, up 19% from the revenue of IDR 38.45 trillion in 2021.

ANTM Corporate Secretary Syarif Faisal Alkadrie stated that gold products contributed the most to the total sales of ANTM, with a proportion of 69%, and sales value of IDR 31.63 trillion.

During 2022, ANTM sold 34.97 tons of gold, which is a growth of 19% compared to the 29.39 tons sold in 2021. As a result of this gold sales achievement, ANTM once again recorded the highest gold product sales in the company's history.

Meanwhile, feronickel was the second-largest contributor to ANTM's sales, with a contribution of IDR 6.85 trillion or 15% of the total consolidated sales in 2022. The contribution of nickel segment sales (feronickel and nickel ore products) in 2022 reached IDR 12.03 trillion, up 12% from sales of IDR 10.74 trillion in 2021.

Faisal stated that in general, the significant volatility of global nickel prices is influenced by the dynamics of global geopolitical and economic conditions as well as lockdown policies in the East Asian region. This sentiment also affects the level of nickel product absorption in export and domestic markets in the second quarter of 2022.

"Responding to this, ANTM continuously mitigates any risks and opportunities through efforts to develop markets and diversify customers domestically and abroad," said Faisal in a press release on Sunday (26/3).

ANTM's bauxite and alumina segment also positively contributed to the company's profitability. In 2022, the contribution of bauxite and alumina segment sales reached IDR 1.93 trillion, up 35% from the 2021 period of IDR 1.43 trillion. The strengthening of the profitability segment is reflected in the current period's net profit achievement of the bauxite and alumina segment, which reached IDR 310 billion, reversing from a net loss of IDR 1.48 trillion in 2021.
