GLOBAL MARKETS-Asia Shares Tentative, Oil Set for Weekly Gains on Mideast Risks

ILUSTRASI. Currency traders watch monitors at the foreign exchange dealing room of the KEB Hana Bank headquarters in Seoul. The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) gained 80.6 points, or 3.3 percent, to close at 2,522.15.

GLOBAL MARKET - SINGAPORE. Asian stocks rose on Friday while oil prices were headed for their sharpest weekly gain in more than a year, as escalating tensions in the Middle East kept markets on edge.

Investor focus was also on the key U.S. nonfarm payrolls report due later in the day, which would provide further clues on the Federal Reserve's rate outlook.
