JAKARTA. Haposan Hutagalung, the former lawyer of Gayus Halomoan Tambunan, will hear a sentence demand from prosecutors on Monday, for allegedly interfering with the course of justice in Gayus’ initial graft trial.
Haposan is accused of preventing and / or blocking the prosecution of Gayus at Tangerang District Court.
Along with Gayus and Andi Kosasih, Haposan was also accused of engineering a fictitious land deal between Andi and Gayus to explain the source of Rp 28 billion (US$3 million) in Gayus bank account. Prosecutors believe the money was the result of bribes Gayus took while he worked as a tax official.
Haposan was also accused of bribing police investigators in the Gayus case. (The Jakarta Post)
