GARUDA INDONESIA - JAKARTA. National flag carrier Garuda Indonesia is to once again fly nonstop from Jakarta to London, beginning on Dec. 13.
The airline ceased the flying the route on Oct. 30, as it announced on its Twitter account.
Garuda director Ari Askhara said that reopening the route is part of the airline’s commitment to strengthen its international flight networks. “The number of British tourists coming to Indonesia has shown a significant increase, which shows a promising market,” he said as quoted in a statement received by The Jakarta Post.
The London-Jakarta route is served by a Boeing 777-300 ER dual class three times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
The Jakarta-London flight is scheduled to depart from the Soekarno Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, at 12:05 p.m. and is to arrive at Heathrow Airport at 8 p.m. local time. Meanwhile, the London-Jakarta flight is to depart at 9:55 p.m. and arrive at 7:10 p.m. local time.
