Fixed Income Unitlink Returns Less Energetic

UNITLINK - JAKARTA. The yield from insurance products linked to fixed-income investment, also known as unitlink, has not been particularly impressive in the first half of this year. According to Infovesta, the average unitlink return for this type of product was only 0.13% year to date (YtD) as of June 2024. Every month, the unitlink yield for fixed income only strengthened by 0.09%. 

Infovesta Kapital Advisori's Research Analyst, Arjun Ajwani, attributes the weak unitlink return for fixed income in the first semester to uncertainties about the interest rate decisions of global central banks, which have put pressure on bond prices as the underlying asset of this type of unitlink.
