DENPASAR. Amid fears that their execution could take place at any time, two Australian drug smugglers, Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran, were visited by their families on Monday.
Michael Chan, Andrew Chan’s brother, arrived at the prison at 9 a.m. Monday to visit his brother, having also visited on Sunday, when he spent more than three hours at the prison.
Michael Chan flew alone from Australia only two days after the presidential decree rejecting his brother’s clemency plea was received. He refused to give any comment to journalists.
Myuran Sukumaran also received special visitors on Monday as his mother, brother and sister visited him accompanied by Australian Consul Majell Hind.
Sukumaran, 33, and Chan, 31, were imprisoned in 2005 for an attempt to smuggle just over 8 kilograms of heroin from Bali into Australia.
