OTOMOTIF - JAKARTA. The compact sport utility vehicle (SUV) market is becoming increasingly crowded, with Citroën, a new entrant, making its mark in this segment.

The French manufacturer has launched the Citroën C3 Aircross SUV, the fifth model introduced by Citroën in the Indonesian market.

The C3 Aircross SUV was initially unveiled at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) in 2023. However, it is only now that the vehicle has been commercially released in the Indonesian market.

The C3 Aircross SUV is priced starting from Rp 289.9 million. The model is equipped with an internal combustion engine (ICE) that meets Euro 5 emission standards and can accommodate up to 7 passengers.

Citroën Indonesia's Chief Executive Officer, Tan Kim Pauw, stated that the Citroën C3 Aircross SUV targets young families and individuals who enjoy adventure. One of the main advantages of this vehicle is its ability to offer a comfortable driving experience due to its interior design that insulates against external noise.

"Citroën has long been known for its suspension technology that makes this vehicle resistant to shocks when driving on various terrains," added Tan Kim Pauw at a press conference on Tuesday (23/4).

The Citroën C3 Aircross SUV is currently a completely built-up (CBU) unit imported from the Stellantis Group factory in India. Plans are in place to begin distributing this model to dealers and Indonesian consumers who have placed orders in early May.

Citroën has not set a specific sales target for the C3 Aircross SUV this year. As a newcomer to the national automotive market, the brand under the Indomobil Group is focusing on providing the best options for consumers through both products and services.

"We prioritize sustainable business and are not in a rush to chase market share in Indonesia," concluded Tan Kim Pauw.
