CHANDRA ASRI (TPIA) – JAKARTA. PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk (TPIA) provides Asrene®SP4808 material with a special formulation that can be produced into High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipes with PE 100 class. These pipes will be used for infrastructure facilities in the Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP) project.

Asrene®SP4808 is also a local resin that already has an Indonesian national standard (SNI) certification and the highest Domestic Content Level (TKDN) in Indonesia.

HDPE pipes with a special formulation applied in geothermal fields can replace the use of steel pipes.

The use of this type of pipe also offers relatively cheaper material costs, installation costs, and maintenance or total ownership costs.

Compared to steel pipes, HDPE pipes that use Asrene®SP4808 raw materials with a special formulation have the advantage of being more resistant to corrosion and abrasion, and advantages in terms of flexibility and elasticity so that they can adjust to the contour of the area in the geothermal field.

“Asrene®SP4808 owned by Chandra Asri, is a SNI certified resin that is qualified as PE 100 with the best long-term strength and has the highest TKDN in its class,” revealed the General Manager of Technical Service and Product Development of Chandra Asri Group, Supriyanto, in a press release, Tuesday (6/2).

The use of HDPE pipes with a special formulation has previously been implemented in the Hamiding Geothermal Field, North Maluku, which is applied to supporting water supply facilities.

Meanwhile, in the Wayang Windu geothermal field, Pangalengan, West Java, HDPE pipes are applied to condensate mixture water distribution facilities with a temperature of 55°C to injection wells.

From this usage, HDPE pipes have proven to be a choice for geothermal facilities due to their reliability and more minimal maintenance (less maintenance) when already in operation.
