Campina Ice Cream Industry (CAMP) Targets Double-Digit Performance Growth This Year

FOOD AND BEVERAGES - JAKARTA. PT Campina Ice Cream Industry Tbk (CAMP) remains optimistic about business prospects throughout this year. CAMP management is always targeting performance growth compared to previous years.

The Director of Sales and Marketing of PT Campina Ice Cream Industry Tbk, Adji Andjono, revealed that they hope sales figures this year can grow by double digits.

“The positive catalysts are the peaceful presidential election, the large number of young people, and the launch of several new products in various ice cream categories,” Adji told Kontan.co.id, Thursday (15/2).

Adji mentioned that at the beginning of this year, business conditions were still experiencing a decrease in fluctuations due to the rainy season which affected ice cream consumption. However, they believe that when entering the Ramadan and Eid period, the ice cream business will grow again.

CAMP management also believes that the presidential election event does not interfere too much with the company's business plans because CAMP's business falls into the impulse-snacking food sector.

Even so, Campina Ice Cream is also not reckless in determining expansion plans for 2024. They will first look at business growth in the first semester to then determine future expansion steps.

Unfortunately, Adji has not been able to detail how much capital expenditure (Capex) is budgeted this year. He only said that as in previous years, some of the capex will be used to renew and add distribution tools.

“In addition, of course, there is expansion to new areas,” he added.

As an addition, CAMP managed to record an increase in financial performance until September 2023 compared to the same period last year.

In terms of revenue, CAMP managed to record net sales of IDR 873 billion, up 1.7% compared to sales in the same period the previous year which amounted to IDR 858.74 billion.

Meanwhile, net profit was recorded at IDR 112.2 billion, up 7.16% compared to net profit until the end of September 2022 which amounted to IDR 104.7 billion.
