JAKARTA. President-elect Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has said that he is just waiting for the right time to announce the names of his Cabinet ministers.
“I just need to announce them,” Jokowi said after him and vice president-elect Jusuf Kalla attended a dress rehearsal for their inauguration at the People’s Consultative Assembly and House of Representatives (MPR/DPR) complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Sunday.
Jokowi refused to indicate exactly when he would announce his Cabinet. “It is possible that I will announce the Cabinet ministers tomorrow. Maybe it will happen the day after tomorrow, in the next three days or even next week,” he said.
Together with MPR leaders, Jokowi-Kalla took part in a 40-minute dress rehearsal on Sunday.
Earlier, MPR speaker Zulkifli Hasan said preparations for the inauguration were 99 percent complete and that only few technical problems needed to be resolved.
Jokowi and Kalla will be inaugurated as Indonesian president and vice president on Monday.
Jokowi said he would drink traditional herbal drinks or jamu before the ceremony. Meanwhile, Kalla said he had cut his hair as part of his preparations for the inauguration. (ebf)
