BANKING - JAKARTA. Global sustainability bond PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BBRI, member of Kompas100 index) was welcomed enthusiastically by global investors. Of the $ 500 million worth of bonds issued, the demand for US dollar-denominated bonds reached $ 4.1 billion.
"It was noted that investors' buying interest in these bonds reached more than $ 4.1 billion. So from the value released by $ 500 million, there are up to eight times oversubscription, "said BRI President Director Suprajarto to Kontan.co.id, Tuesday (3/26).
BRI's global sustainability bond has a tenor of five years with a coupon of 3.95% per year paid every semester. Suprajarto said the proceeds of the bonds issuance were for credit expansion, particularly in the micro, small and medium business credit segment.
Last year, BRI's credit growth reached 13.6% to Rp 804.33 trillion. This year, BRI targets credit growth of more than 14%.
