BPN - JAKARTA. The Jakarta National Land Agency (BPN Jakarta) aims to certify 1.6 million plots of land until the end of 2019.
This year alone, more than 300,000 plots of lands are to be certified.
“In Jakarta, we have this many plots because many land owners have divided their land and sold them separately,” Jaya, head of BPN Jakarta, said in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, on Wednesday as quoted by kompas.com.
He said 1.4 million plots of land registered with the agency had not been certified. Therefore, around 200,000 plots were unregistered.
To ease the agency’s job, Jaya appealed to land owners to join the Gema Patas campaign, through which landowners have been encouraged to install signs on their land borders.
The borders can help officers measure the land plots.
“The ones who best understand the edges of the plots are the owners, not anyone else,” Jaya said.
