JAKARTA. Maybank announced on Wednesday that the president director of PT Bank Internasional Indonesia Tbk (BII), Dato Khairussaleh Ramli, had submitted his resignation in order to return to Malaysia for personal reasons.
Ramli was appointed by shareholders as president director of BII in January 2012.
“I am sad to hear Dato Khairussaleh's decision, especially after noting his contribution to the growth of BII in the Maybank Group. But we have to respect his personal wishes,” BII president commissioner, Tan Sri Megat Zaharuddin Megat Mohd Nor, said in an official release on Wednesday.
“BII has gone through several consecutive quarters of sterling growth, amid a challenging operating environment, and its transformation into the leading relationship bank in its communities continues,” added Tan Sri Megat.
"An interim officer-in-charge, Thila Nadason, currently finance director of BII has been appointed to handle the company's day-to-day operations to deliver our business targets and stakeholder relationships, while the board of commissioners is hastening the process of finding a new president director.”
BII will make an appropriate announcement on who the new president director will be in due course, once necessary regulatory approval has been secured.
