PROYEK SMELTER - JAKARTA. The Sonic Bay project, a nickel-cobalt smelter for electric battery raw materials in the Teluk Weda region of North Maluku, has been abandoned by its prospective investors.

It's worth noting that the project, which was touted to have an investment value of US$ 2.6 billion or equivalent to IDR 42.64 trillion, was left by two investors, namely the French mining company Eramet and the German company BASF.
