Bank Indonesia Forecast Indonesian Economic Growth 4.7%-5.5% in 2024

ECONOMIC GROWTH - JAKARTA. Bank Indonesia (BI) remains optimistic about Indonesia's economic growth in 2024. 

BI Governor Perry Warjiyo maintains the forecast for Indonesia's economic growth in 2024 in the range of 4.7% to 5.5% annually. 

“This prospect is in line with improving exports, in line with the potential for increased global economic growth,” Perry explained in a press conference, Thursday (21/2) in Jakarta. 

Regarding the global economic outlook, Perry raised the forecast for this year's world economic growth from 2.8% yoy, to 3.0% annually.

Meanwhile, domestic growth is believed to remain good, supported by the positive confidence of economic actors. 

However, Perry advised that Indonesia must continue to encourage household consumption and investment, especially non-building to support sustainable economic growth. 

Going forward, BI will strengthen the policy mix, especially macroprudential policy and payment systems. 

BI will also closely synergize with the government's fiscal stimulus, to boost domestic demand.
