GRUP BAKRIE - JAKARTA. PT Energi Mega Persada Tbk (ENRG) through its subsidiary, EMP Bentu Limited has discovered gas in place amounting to approximately 126 billion cubic feet from its drilling activities in the CEN-01 gas well.

Energi Mega Persada Director Tri Firmanto said his party will conduct drilling in several development wells, gas pipeline construction, and additional production facility development to follow up on these findings

“We hope to be able to start producing gas from the CEN-01 well with an average volume of 45 million cubic feet of gas per day in the future,” he said in an official statement received by Kontan, Wednesday (6/3).

As for EMP Bentu Limited, which is the operator and owns 100% participation interest in the KKS Bentu block, it will optimize gas production from the KKS Bentu block in the near future.

Edoardus Ardianto, Deputy CEO of Energi Mega Persada said the increase in gas production from the KKS Bentu block is expected to have a positive impact on EMP's financial performance in the future.

Assuming a gas selling price of US$ 6 per mmbtu, the additional gas production of 45 million cubic feet of gas per day is worth about US$ 270,000 per day or about US$ 100 million per year.

According to him, the discovery of gas in place from the KKS Bentu block also reflects ENRG's achievement in developing our business organically.

This gas discovery is also expected to maintain ENRG's contribution in supporting gas production as currently more than 50% of gas production in the SKK Migas North Sumatra representative area is contributed by ENRG.

The KKS Bentu block is currently operated and 100% of its participation interest is owned by ENRG's subsidiary, EMP Bentu Limited. Throughout 2023, the KKS Bentu block produced an average of 81 million cubic feet of gas per day.
