CORPORATE ACTION -  JAKARTA. PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara (AMMAN) has strengthened its digital transformation strategy by deploying an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered decision support system to improve mineral recovery, enabling the company to extract greater value from every tonne of ore while supporting more sustainable mining practices.

"AIDA reflects AMMAN's culture of continuous improvement. Through digital transformation, we are not only improving operational efficiency but also strengthening our commitment to mineral conservation. The true value of this initiative lies in the combination of advanced technology and the expertise of our people. When data, innovation, and experience come together, they enable better decisions and better outcomes," Kartika Octaviana, Vice President of Corporate Communications at AMMAN, said in a press release on Wednesday (July 8, 2026).

The system, named Artificial Intelligence Dashboard Automation (AIDA), was developed to address one of the mining industry's biggest challenges: maximizing the recovery of valuable minerals as ore bodies become more complex and sustainability standards continue to rise.

By increasing recovery rates, the technology also helps reduce the amount of valuable metals lost to tailings, supporting more efficient use of Indonesia's mineral resources.

AIDA is built on more than 25 years of AMMAN's operational data, combining millions of historical and real-time data points to continuously analyze processing plant conditions.

At the heart of the platform is the AI-driven Set Point Optimizer, which recommends optimal operating parameters—including reagent dosage and water flow rates—to improve metallurgical performance and support faster operational decision-making.

Rather than replacing human expertise, the AI system is designed to complement it. Every four hours, AMMAN's operations and metallurgy teams jointly review the AI-generated recommendations before implementing any adjustments, blending data-driven insights with decades of operational experience to maintain optimal plant performance.

To support the deployment of AIDA, AMMAN also upgraded its mineral processing workflow, including sensors, instrumentation, and data collection systems, to ensure the AI receives accurate and reliable information for analysis.

The investment has already produced measurable results. By combining process improvements with AI-driven optimization, AMMAN said it has increased mineral recovery by around 2.5% at its Batu Hijau operation—an achievement the company described as significant given the mine's already high recovery rates.

According to AMMAN, even a modest increase in recovery can substantially improve resource utilization and reduce valuable metals remaining in tailings, demonstrating that digital innovation can generate both economic and environmental benefits.
