JAKARTA. Law and Human Rights Minister Amir Syamsuddin said on Friday that he had yet to decide Australian drug trafficker Schapelle Corby's parole application, despite previously telling the media that he would make an announcement today.

Corby was arrested at Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar, Bali, in October 2004 for attempting to smuggle 4.2 kilograms of marijuana into the country. She was sentenced to 20 years in prison, and is serving time at the Kerobokan Penitentiary on Bali.

"It's still under review," Amir said before lunch on Friday at the Presidential Office. "We must [consider] all the existing regulations [to determine whether or not to grant parole]."

Amir had said he would complete the reviews pertaining to 1,772 parole requests, including Corby's, after the correctional board in Jakarta met on Jan. 30 and recommended the parole requests. (Ina Parlina)
