JAKARTA. The Jakarta administration, through its bus operator PT Transjakarta, added 20 more buses on Friday for transportation services for disabled people. The service is called Transjakarta Care.
The additional buses, donated by the Tahir Foundation, means the city will have 26 buses dedicated to the Transjakarta Care program.
Jakarta Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama said the program provided pick-up services for disabled people from their homes to their final destinations.
"We urgently need more Transjakarta Care buses to reduce long queues," Ahok said, thanking the Tahir Foundation at City Hall.
The governor said the administration wanted to help disabled poor people avoid extra costs in using taxis by offering the Transjakarta Care service.(Agnes Anya)
