CORPORATE STRATEGIC - JAKARTA. PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA), a state-owned construction company, has reported a new contract value of IDR 5.04 trillion in the first quarter of 2024.

As of March 2024, the largest contribution to the new contracts came from the industrial sector, followed by infrastructure and building, EPCC, as well as property and investment segments.

WIKA's President Director, Agung Budi Waskito, stated that the high achievement of new contracts from the industrial sector was driven by the performance of WIKA Beton.

In terms of ownership, most of the projects won by WIKA came from the Government and State-Owned Enterprises, with a monthly progress payment scheme.

“Some of the projects WIKA secured in March 2024 include the continuation of the National Axis Road East Side Phase II project in the Nusantara Capital, the RDF Plant Rorotan in DKI Jakarta, the Serang - Panimbang Toll Road Section 3B, and several other contract acquisitions at subsidiaries,” he said in a press release, Monday (29/4).

In addition to these acquisitions, WIKA is currently pushing for the construction of the Jakarta Sewerage Development Project (JSDP) in Zone 1. WIKA's portion in this project is worth IDR 573 billion.

This project is an initiative of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing aimed at improving environmental quality through quality domestic wastewater services in DKI Jakarta, through the construction of pipe networks and pump stations.

“The JSDP project in zone 1 is targeted to serve 3 administrative cities covering Central Jakarta, West Jakarta, and North Jakarta,” he explained.

As one of the contractors in zone 1, WIKA has shown a progress of 13% in the foundation casting stage of the pump station construction as a waste treatment system.

“This project is a manifestation of WIKA's support for improving environmental quality so that the people of Jakarta can be free from waste through the construction of a Centralized Wastewater Management System,” he concluded.
