CORPORATE STRATEGIC - JAKARTA. PT Pertamina Marine Engineering (PME), a subsidiary of PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental (PTK), has completed four underwater work services (UWS) projects during the first quarter of 2024.

The four UWS projects completed by PME are strategic, consisting of two Single Point Mooring changeover (SPM) operations, floating docks in the middle of the sea connected to pipelines on land, and two underwater pipeline works.

PME Director Yada Prawira Ganta stated that these projects represent a synergy between PTK, PT Kilang Pertamina Indonesia (KPI), and PT Pertamina Patra Niaga (PPN) in supporting the smooth distribution of national energy.

He explained that UWS is a service that requires special competence, so all UWS work is equipped with capable equipment and the workers have received certification for Class I Divers issued by the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia. In addition, PME is committed to completing the work on time and meeting HSSE (Health, Safety, Security & Environment) standards.

"The project to construct a floating dock in the middle of the sea was carried out in the integrated Balongan Terminal area, with the first phase replacing the SPM of 35,000 deadweight tonnage (DWT). Then, the changeover of the SPM of 150,000 DWT in Lawe-Lawe, the operational area of Refinery Unit V Balikpapan," said Yada in an official statement on Tuesday (7/5).

Yada also mentioned that there were two underwater pipeline works carried out at the Aviation Fuel Terminal (AFT) or the Ngurah Rai Bali Aircraft Refueling Depot for Submarine Pipeline (SPL) inspection, and the repair of the Fuel Oil (BBM) hose line through the Conventional Buoy Mooring (CBM) at the Ternate Fuel Terminal for phase I.
