ISSUER NEWS - JAKARTA. PT Indosat Tbk (ISAT), a leading telecommunications company in Indonesia, has allocated a capital expenditure (capex) of IDR 2 trillion in the first quarter of 2024.

Nicky Lee, the Director & Chief Financial Officer of ISAT, stated that the capex absorption in the first quarter of 2024 is relatively small compared to the total budget of IDR 12 trillion for the year 2024.

Historically, ISAT's capex usage in the first quarter of each year is typically less than in other quarters throughout the year.

“The capex usage will increase in the following quarters,” he said during the first quarter 2024 ISA performance press conference on Tuesday (30/4).

Regarding future corporate actions and collaborations, ISAT will continue to focus on realizing its partnership with NVIDIA as the first NVIDIA cloud provider partner in Indonesia.

Vikram Sinha, President Director and Chief Executive Officer of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, said the collaboration is carried out through ISAT's subsidiary, Lintasarta.

The collaboration aims to democratize access to NVIDIA's leading AI platform, empowering companies across the region through the use of Graphic Processing Unit (GPU) technology.

The GPU will be available in Indonesia in June 2024 and will soon be marketed by Lintasarta.

“We are not only preparing the technology, but we are also preparing the talent to develop this innovation. We are building the Indosat-Mastercard Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (CoE) at Solo Techno Park,” said Vikram.

Indosat is also strengthening its commitment to cybersecurity through strategic collaborations with Cisco and Mastercard.

In addition, ISAT is open to potential collaborations with other parties as long as the partnership contributes positively to Indonesia.

“Future partnerships must be viewed with the same vision, which is to build Indonesia. In addition, future collaborations must also contribute to the growth of core business revenue, enterprise, and other revenues outside the core business,” he said.
