JAKARTA. The Jakarta Administration will host the 2014 Cultural and Tourism Festival, set for Saturday at the National Monument (Monas) park in Central Jakarta.
The festival will display a range of artistic and cultural performances from throughout the archipelago.
“The festival aims to establish Jakarta’s image as the hub of the nation’s culture and tourism,” Jakarta Tourism Agency head Arie Budhiman said in Jakarta on Tuesday.
The festival will feature a creative industry exhibition, a carnival, music performances and a colossal dance performance themed “Jakarta’s colors for the world”, he added.
The exhibition, in which 30 brands will participate, will be held from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., while at least 350 artists from 20 different communities will participate in the performances.
The carnival will start at 4.30 p.m. and end at 6 p.m.
Visitors will be entertained by a musical performance on Saturday night.
