JAKARTA. The recent coal price growth has brought positive prospects to heavy equipment business.
Chairman of Heavy Equipment Association Jamaludin said that the increase in coal price will gradually boost heavy equipment business. At the first phase, normally heavy equipment entrepreneurs or mining companies will reactivate their idle equipments.
Meanwhile, Marketing Director of PT Hexindo Adiperkasa Tbk (HEXA) Djonggi Gultom said that 300 of 550 units of the company’s idle equipments have started operating.
As an information, in addition to trade the heavy equipment, Hexindo also rents the equipments to coal mining companies. According to Djonggi, Hexindo will develop partnership with mining companies in creating equipment refurbishments.
Furthermore, the company plans to open a new branch in Berau, East Kalimantan. “But we are still conducting feasibilty study,” Djonggi said, Monday (10/10).
The subsidiary of PT Astra International Tbk (ASII), PT United Tractors Tbk (UNTR) also booked an increase in the number of orders for mining heavy equipments. “The demands start increasing from coal mining sector, due to the increase in coal price”, said Marketing Director of PT United Tractors Loudy Irwanto Elias.
However, Corporate Secretary of PT United Tractors Tbk Sara K. Loebis said that the company has not revised the sales target for this year. “Our target remains the same, 2,000 units per year,” said Sara.
In 2015, the issuer that listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) under the code of UNTR booked Rp 49.3 trillion of income, or decreased by 7% from Rp 53.1 trillion in 2014. As of June 2016, the amount of United Tractors sales decreased by 10% from Rp 24.9 trillion in 2015 to Rp 22.6 trillion.
