Djarot addresses Jakartans' complaints

JAKARTA. Acting Jakarta governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat continues non-active governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama's morning routine of welcoming residents who want to file complaints at City Hall, but with a more orderly system.

Djarot has ordered all working units to deploy a person in charge to serve the people.

As a result, Jakartans formed several lines in accordance to categories of problems at City Hall's veranda on Friday.

Those having problems with education would stand in front of the desk of the Education Agency, while those having health problems would make a line in front of the Health Agency's desk.

Education, Health and Housing agencies were among the working units serving citizens that morning. They started the services at 7:30 a.m. and ran until 9 a.m.

Djarot, who arrived at the hall at around 8 a.m., monitored every unit and talked to a number of people and asked his subordinates to address the citizens' problems.

"This current system allows us to work more orderly," Djarot said, adding that he wanted the morning routine to truly contribute to those in need. (Ivany Atina Arbi)
