The demonstrators are still reluctant to disperse from the presidential office area. President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) actually has appointed some ministers to have dialog with the demonstrators.
The ministers include Coordinating Minister of Politics, Law, and Human Rights Wiranto, Minister of Religious Affairs Lukman Hakim S, Minster of State Secretary Pratikno, and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung. However, the demonstrators are still reluctant to meet with the ministers.
Wiranto said that the demonstrators still instist to meet with President Jokowi to deliver their aspirations. "I said, they cannot meet President, since the President has appointed m to represent the government," said Wiranto.
Wiranto made the statement after met the representative of the demonstrators Bachtiar Nasir, who is also the Secretary General of Council of Indonesia's Young Ulema and Intellectual, at nearby the Merdeka Palace complex, today (4/11). Wiranto said that the President was not available for having a meeting with demonstrators due to an official visit to a project site. (Translator: Muhammad Farid)
