JAKARTA. Indonesian actor Reza Rahadian brought home the Best Actor award from the 57th Asia-Pacific Film Festival (APFF) held from July 28-30 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
“I’m happy because this is the first time for Indonesia to receive the Best Actor [award] at the Asia-Pacific Film Festival,” Reza told kompas.com on Thursday in Jakarta, adding that he accepted the award for his role as Rudy Habibie in the film Rudy Habibie.
Reza also said that, unlike the Best Actor title, several Indonesian actresses had won Best Actress awards at the festival, namely Christine Hakim, Ria Irawan, Widyawati and Prisia Nasution.
“[This award] belongs to Indonesia. I dedicate this especially to the people in the Indonesian film industry, Indonesian film enthusiasts and Indonesian actors,” Reza said.
Aside from Reza, composer Tya Subiakto also won the Best Music award at the APFF for her work in Rudy Habibie.
APFF is an annual festival that has been held since 1954.
