JAKARTA. State news agency Perum lembaga Kantor Berita Nasional (LKBN) ANTARA is targeting to net Rp 18 billion (US$1.9 billion) by the end of this year.
Last year, the company netted Rp 13.3 billion in net profits from Rp 3.8 billion in 2008.
"The achievement was based on the health performance of the company," Antara President Director Ahmad Mukhlis Yusuf told reporters in Jakarta on Monday, as quoted by tempointeraktif.com news portal.
However, he said that the Antara revenue structure was still weak because the majority of the commercial revenue was from cooperating with foreign wire services such as Reuters, Bloomberg and AFP. (The Jakarta Post)
