Met the Minister of Energy of Saudi Arabia, Jokowi discussed the Cilacap refinery

JOKOWI - JAKARTA. President Joko Widodo discussed the management of the Cilacap oil refinery with the government of Saudi Arabia. This discussion took place in the middle of Jokowi's visit to Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi Arabian company will work with PT Pertamina (Persero) to manage the Cilacap refinery. "The possibility of cooperation between Aramco and Pertamina to manage the Cilacap refinery is one of the issues discussed," said Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi in a press release, Monday (15/4).

Jokowi and Retno met with the Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Khalid Al-Falih.

They also discussed issues surrounding barriers to cooperation, including delays in valuing assets. Jokowi will immediately address this issue as soon as returned to Indonesia. "Upon returning to Indonesia, the president will meet with several ministers to solve this problem," Retno explained.

Saudi Arabia is not only interested in discussing the oil refinery business. Retno also said that Saudi Arabia was interested in cooperating in the petrochemical industry.

Saudi Arabia will make a return visit to Indonesia to discuss plans to increase cooperation in the energy sector, both in the oil and petrochemical industries.

Together with Retno, Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko and Indonesian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Agus Maftuh Abegebriel also accompanied Jokowi during the discussion.
