King Salman’s visit to bring opportunities


JAKARTA. The King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulazis Al-Saud will visit Jakarta during 1 March-9 March 2017. The visit would also bring along the business opportunities, mainly in the sectors of hotel and accommodations. During this visit, the King would be accompanied by 1,500 companions.

According to the Chairman of the Indonesia’s Hotels Association (PHRI) Hariyadi Sukamdani, the visits would bring a large amount of business opportunities for some hotels, which will be hosting the state’s guests. According to Hariyadi, the hotels will provide services with the standards of royal family. “The services’ rates will be high,” he told KONTAN, Friday (24/2).

Aside of Jakarta, the state’s guests will have vacation in Bali. According to Hariyadi, in Jakarta, the state’s guests probably will stay at some hotels in Kuningan area, such as JW Marriot, Ritz Carlton, and Four Season. Meanwhile, during the visit to Bali, the King and the companions would likely stay at Mulia Resort in Nusa Dua and Bulgari Resort in Uluwatu.

Hariyadi was not sure about the number of rooms, which have been booked for this visit. However, KONTAN found that Ritz Carlton Hotel in Kuningan area has been fully booked during 1 March-3 March. The highest tariff in that hotel is Rp 58 million for a night.

According to Hariyadi, usually the tariffs of those three hotels are ranging around US$ 500-US$ 600 per night. Meanwhile, the highest rate of Bulgari Hotel is Rp 109 million per night. That rate provides a service, which consists of five rooms and one private pool. Another hotel that would host the state’s guest, namely Mulia Hotel has a highest rate at Rp 5.2 million per night.

The visit would also generate profits for a transportation company PT Blue Bird Tbk. “We would contribute to this visit. But we only provide information (related to the contribution) based on the direction from the organizer,” said Maria Lihawa, Vice President of Central Operation of Blue Bird.

The transportation company would provide the Golden Bird service for the state’s guests that usually consists of the vehicles of Mercedez Benz and Toyota Alphard types. Maria refused to reveal the number of the contract, as well as the details of the vehicles types. However, definitely, the tariff for a type of vehicle amounts to Rp 2.25 million per 12 hours.

Meanwhile, the Government of Indonesia expects that King Salman will bring investment opportunities as much as US$ 25 billion. (Muhammad Farid)
