Bali Blues Festival set to attract music lovers


JAKARTA. The Bali Blues Festival (BBF) 2017 is set to be held in Bali on May 26 and 27.

A roadshow event dubbed the "Road to Bali Blues Festival" was conducted at the Hard Rock Café Bali on Wednesday as a promotional event for the BBF 2017.

Sound of Mine, The Bodhi, Bali Guitar Club, Ronaldgang and Bali Blues Brother Jamz were among the performers in the roadshow. 

The BBF 2017 is being organized in partnership by Pregina Art, Showbiz Bali, the Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) Nusa Dua Bali and the Tourism Ministry.

The two-day event will feature a collaboration between Gugun Blues Shelter and Indra Lesmana, as well as Balawan The Magic Finger and Gilang Ramadahan on the first day.

On the second day, the Six Strings group consisting of prominent Indonesian guitarists like Dewa Budjana, Eros, Tohpati, Baron and Baim will perform on stage.

Meanwhile, the Krakatau Reunion music group consisting of Trie Utami, Indra Lesmana, Dwiki Dharmawan, Pra Budhi Dharma, Gilang Ramadhan and Donnie Suhendra will serve as the closing act on the second day.

The BBF 2017 committee also invited several communities in Bali to participate in the event, including photography, motorcycle and classic car communities.

Prior to the roadshow, the BBF committee conducted a promotional event at the Byron Bay Blues Fest (BBBF) Australia in April. The BBBF Australia is known as the world’s biggest blues festival and it has been running for 28 years. It attracts hundreds of thousands people who go to listen to hundreds of musicians from all over the world.

In the first third of 2017, up to 3 million foreign tourists came to Indonesia, 43 percent of whom entered through Ngurah Rai International Airport on Bali, 21 percent through Soekarno-Hatta International Airport near Jakarta and 12.3 percent through Batam, Riau Islands. (kes)
